CINTAL researchers José Valente de Oliveira and António Ruano among the top 2% of the world’s most highly-cited scientists world’s most highly-cited scientists

CINTAL researchers José Valente de Oliveira and António Ruano were ranked among the top 2% of the world’s most highly-cited scientists, according to the updated study published by Stanford University (USA).

Prof. John Ioannidis and his team from Stanford University, used Scopus to create a publicly available database of 100,000 top scientists that provides standardized information on several measures of citations, including a composite indicator.

In this ranking, scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. José Valente de Oliveira was ranked in the field of Information & Communication Technologies, sub-fields of Artificial Intelligence &Image Processing and Acoustics, and António Ruano in the field of Engineering, sub-fields of Industrial Engineering & Automation and Artificial Intelligence & Image Processing. The two researchers belong to both the career-long and single-year impact databases.

Launch of the Tec4Sea ship

The ship Mar Profundo, a research infrastructure created within the scope of Tec4Sea, a partnership between InescTec and CINTAL, was launched at sea on April 21, 2021.
